OM Ashok is a mechanical engineer by profession. He retired as a Chief Engineer in 2011 and settled in Pune since 2013. He is an avid homebrewer and has homebrewed a backward integrated solid state 20w Atlas transceiver that won him the 1st prize in Hyderabad Ham Convention in 1984. He has also homebrewed a Hex beam, an SDR transceiver and also developed a multiband direct conversion receiver.
